Kassy Brino, DNP, APRN, CPNP, PMHS
Kassondra ("Kassy") Shoemaker Brino is a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner and board certified Pediatric Mental Health Specialist (PMHS). She is a proud advocate of mental health, particularly in the adolescent population. Kassy obtained her Master of Science in Nursing degree from UNC Chapel Hill, followed by her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Duke University School of Nursing, where she currently teaches as adjunct faculty.
Kassy was born in Middletown, NY and currently lives in Durham, NC with her husband, baby boy and two pups.
Sara Schaefer, MSN, APRN, CPNP
Sara Schaefer obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has over 10 years of experience in Emergency and Pediatric nursing. She is passionate about adolescent wellness, specifically body image, contraceptive counseling, and mental wellness. She has been actively involved in mentoring adolescents since she was in college. Sara is looking forward to working towards her doctoral degree in the fall of 2021.
Sara is a mother to three sweet girls, aged 5, 3, and 8 months. She loves the outdoors, reading, and shopping. She was raised here in North Carolina and
she and her husband, Ryan, the girls,
and the family dog, Nelly reside in Apex.
Kelly Sproles, M.A.
Kelly Sproles is a mental health professional and North Carolina native. She attended Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC where she earned her B.A. in Psychology and attained her M.A. in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University in Phoenix, AZ.
It is Kelly’s belief that each therapeutic journey is unique to the individual and will work with each client to develop a path that works best for you. There is not one single therapeutic approach that best suits every person so a variety of techniques can be utilized to cater to your unique self, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Art therapy, and Music therapy.
Kelly currently resides in Cary, NC with her husband and two children, Etta and Ellis. When she is not working, Kelly enjoys cooking, crafting, upcycling, and watching shows.
